Mitt Romney (Mormon), is a Harvard-educated man marked by a distinguished business career in the private sector and tenure as influential public servant and political leader, who made a momentous decision to run for the office of President of the United States. Mitt comes to the global stage tenaciously. Romney has received a great deal of media attention--and, in fact, undue criticism--for his deeply-held Christian religious beliefs, raised in the context of his candidacy for national office. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, frequently misnamed the "Mormon Church." Its constituents, Latter-day Saints, are often nicknamed "Mormons"--hence, the media's simplified references to "Mitt Romney, Mormon," or "Mitt's Mormonism."

This website is dedicated to giving an accurate picture of Mitt Romney as a person, as a Mormon, and as presidential candidate in 2012. It is not designed to influence readers' political opinions, but is designed with the hope of giving readers a correct representation of the facts, so they can make their own informed decisions. We welcome you and hope you gain here a better understanding of what Mormons believe and how Mitt Romney's Mormon beliefs influence or do not influence his political views and capabilities.

A Good Day for Mormonism

Dear Mitt Romney, Thank you, Governor Romney. Thank you for going out on a limb to stand for truth and righteousness—both personally and as an unofficial representative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes mistakenly called the “Mormon Church”). Your willingness to sacrifice everything you possibly could have, for the sake of fighting for what you believe,...

An Example to Us All: Thank you, Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney has made my life easier, and for that, I am grateful. His actions as a politician have provided a powerful example of honor and integrity to all Americans. As a Mormon (member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) I am especially grateful that he lives up to the standards of Mormonism that he advocates. I have spent most of my life explaining–and...

Mormon Mitt Romney’s Message to the American...

As the race for the office of President of the United States draws to a close, history may well be once again in the making. History was made in 2008 when Barack Obama became the first ever African American to be elected as President, and now the possibility greatly exists that Republican Mitt Romney, a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (more commonly...

Churchgoers Encouraged to Vote; Consider Social Is...

It appears that this 2012 election–more than ever before–has resulted in some religions becoming involved in the political process. A recent Pew Survey indicated that clergy have encouraged their congregations to vote, though few have discussed specific candidates. Instead, they have brought up social issues such as care of the poor, homosexuality and abortion, restating...

Mormonism no longer a factor in presidential race

If Mitt Romney loses the 2012 presidential election, it probably won’t be because of religion, according to Steven Chapman, an editorial columnist for oaoa.com. He said: There are two big reasons Romney’s faith is having so little impact on the race. One is that the people most inclined to hold it against him have bigger things to worry about. In 2008, white evangelical voters...
